1) Eurotrip

Eurotrip is the classic ‘backpacking in Europe’ movie. Though it might be a bit raunchy, it’s a hilarious movie and will definitely get you in the mood to drop everything and head to Europe.

If you haven’t seen it, high school senior, “Scotty” realizes he’s fallen in love with his penpal, “Mika.” After a miscommunication, she stops answering his emails, and Scotty decides to go to Europe to track her down. His friends come along for the ride – which is certainly an adventure.

2) Midnight in Paris

If you’re in love with enchanting Paris, then “Midnight in Paris” will take you there. This movie stars Owen Wilson and Rachel Mcadams, as well as a few other stars, like Kathy Bates and Adrien Brody.

Gil and his fiance, Inez, go to France with Inez’s parents. While they are there, Gil finds inspiration to work on his novel, while Inez thinks about how they can buy antiques to furnish their home back in Malibu. One night, Gil goes for a midnight stroll, when he gets picked up by an interesting group in an old car. They take him back in time to Paris in the 20’s – Gil’s ideal time period – where he realizes what he needs to do.

Not only is the story great, but the movie shows beautiful scenes of Paris throughout.

3) Vicky Cristina Barcelona

From the same creator of Midnight in Paris comes another great movie by Woody Allen that will get you excited for Europe – “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.” This movie follows two best friends who decide to spend the summer in Barcelona together before Vicky is due to get married.

While they are there, they fall in love with the same man – a romantic painter with a complicated relationship with his ex-wife. But, as interesting as their love triangle gets, the scenes in Barcelona are just as easy to fall in love with.

4) Eat, Pray, Love

And, of course, who could forget “Eat, Pray, Love” inspired by Liz Gilbert’s book? While we definitely recommend reading the book beforehand, the movie will get you excited for Europe just the same.

Julia Roberts stars in the film in which a young woman sets out on a life-changing journey around the world. After a heart-wrenching divorce, she decides to fulfill her dream of traveling – to go to Italy, India, and Indonesia. Although you get a taste of a few destinations in this movie, the parts in Italy are to die for!

5) National Lampoon’s European Vacation

Probably one of the funniest movies of all-time (and ridiculous) is National Lampoon’s European Vacation. The famous Clark Griswold wins a trip to Europe for his family. And, like every Vacation movie, everything that could possibly go wrong on the trip goes wrong. If you want to have a good laugh while also seeing how Europe looked nearly 25 years ago!

6) The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

Looking for love on your upcoming trip to Europe? The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants will surely get you excited! The first movie, which depicts Lena spending the summer in Greece to visit her grandparents, gets even better when she falls in love with a local. The shots from Greece are absolutely breathtaking. You’ll want to get on a plane and go there as soon as possible.
